I have a question for you.
Do you think that you might be able to take a weekend before my summer is up so the two of us can go somewhere? Like the beach? Or even just...actually, no, I'm going to have to request the beach. My summer has been sickeningly hectic for it to actually qualify as being labeled "summer" and I think I could use a little R & R.
I mean, only if you're interested! Don't feel obligated or anything, all right?

Sweet Merlin. I have had "The Locomotion" stuck in my head for three days straight. I'm about to go out of my mind, I swear.

I'm thinking about getting a haircut. I haven't gotten a proper, hairstyle altering haircut since I just finished up at WADA which was partially for a part but mostly because I needed something new. I'm not sure if I want to go as extreme as I did back then, but.. advice, please!
( Picture! )
This picture was taken just after finishing school, as I said above, so this is one of my head shots I had had taken at the time.

With the musical over - which, by the way, was fantastic and all of the students are to be so proud of themselves for putting on such a wonderful production - I'm left to be able to pick up with my own shows. At the tail end of last week I went ahead and auditioned for "Chicago" which is being put on by the Rastrick Theatre and I've landed myself the part of Roxie Hart.
I haven't played a character like her in ages, so I'm really looking forward to it. We're opening at the end of June, so keep your eyes open for ticket sales!
Also - this is last minute, but karaoke for the Faculty Meeting?

I think that I'm feeling more butterflies now than I ever have for any of the productions I've starred in myself. Not that I don't think the students will perform absolutely perfect, of course! The excitement is really starting to build and I can't wait to see them on stage and with the music and.. yes, it will be lovely.
So, anyway! "Peter Pan" will be opening tomorrow night at 7 o'clock in the evening with another show at the same time on Saturday. If you can spare a few hours to see a great show with very talented actors and actresses - please stop by!

I had the most wonderful revelation today while I was reading essays and waiting for musical rehearsal to start for the students.
I have been teaching at RLA for four years now, having been involved since the very beginning. I have had all of the wonderful holidays that come with having teaching as a profession, but I've always had a show going on so I've never really been off.
This Easter holiday, however, I won't have any rehearsals to attend. I will be completely free and clear. I will be able to sleep in.
I just don't know what I will do with myself!

[March 22] |
For Mothering Sunday this year, my siblings and I chipped in together to buy tickets for my mum and dad to go on a cruise down by the Mediterranean. It's something that I've always wanted to do myself, but I will just have to live vicariously through my parents for the time being. My mum normally insists on making a dinner for all of us to celebrate her being our mother (we've tried to convince her that we should be making it for her, but she will not listen), but seeing as they are currently out of the country we did not do that this year.
Instead, I went over to my brother and sister-in-law's home this afternoon for lunch - mostly because everything our family does together revolves around some sort of food. It's a curse and the reason I fear when my metabolism completely goes out.
Anyway, long story short (or perhaps longer since it's already a bit long), my nephew and niece are absolutely adorable. My niece is only seven months and my nephew is turning four this year, but whenever I see them I have a hard time not kidnapping them. I reckon Isaac and Jessica would notice their children missing, though.
And there goes my biological clock.
